It’s a few days before Christmas in the year 2229, but the captain of the starship Pegasus refuses to permit any celebration of any kind. Even worse, his persistent impossible demands of his officers and crew create a simmering tension that could boil over at any moment. Fortunately, Pegasus is assigned to patrol a backwater area and the enemy Burundit Empire has been mostly quiet of late—until the ship unexpectedly encounters the enemy’s newest, devastating weapon system on Christmas Eve, threatening the captain and crew with imminent destruction unless they can overcome both the enemy and their own internal conflicts.
A Bit About the Author
This is my first published work of science fiction. I plan to publish a full-length novel in the not-too-distant future. Watch here for news and announcements.
I have been writing science fiction since junior high school, most of it fit solely to occupy a box in the attic where, hopefully, it will never be seen again by anyone. Other than a handful of stories in my high school literary magazine, this is my first published work of fiction. I have degrees in computer science and law and I have been a software engineer, attorney, magistrate, judge, and expert in computer and digital forensics. Currently, I practice primarily as an arbitrator. I live with my wife, Ana, step-son, Jonathan, and parakeets, Rex and Max, near Jacksonville, Florida.
