Band Program Handbook

All members and their parents should read the information in this year’s handbook. Policies change from year to year and we want you to be up to speed. It’s important that students and parents work together to keep the Stevens Band Family moving forward and enjoying the rewards of our program.  The advocacy article How Parents Can Help (p.11) is designed to give guidance to parents; read it carefully to gain important insights.  PARENTS - it is important, as we work to effectively communicate our goals and purpose with our community, to be as involved as possible in your student’s activities in our program. 

Fee information

A $375.00 band student fee and $625.00 colorguard student fee will be used to cover a variety of expenses encountered by the band program that are not funded by the Northside ISD. This document outlines the fee payment options, their due dates, and the MANY items the fees cover for our students. Please ready over this, plan payments accordingly, and email john.dominguez@nisd.net if you have questions. This information is also contained in our Band Program Handbook on pp. 13-14.

required forms

These forms must be completed, signed, printed, and submitted on July 26 or 27 at our Registration Nights. Please do not email us these forms - bring in the completed hard copies. 

Medical History & Physical Form: It is a state requirement that all students participating in high school band & colorguard complete this process at least every 2 years. Contact your doctor's office or local med clinic to complete this before July 15.

SHS Medical Form: This form is also required by our program. Student and parent must complete this form together. If you indicate on the form that the student uses an inhaler, the student MUST have in inhaler at ALL band program events in order to be allowed to travel and participate with the band program. 

All Other Forms: Please complete and bring to Registration Night on Wednesday July 17 or Thursday July 18. Check the Newsletter on July 14 for specific times and other important details.
