John Anderson was elected to the Red Oak ISD School Board in 2002 and is currently serving as President. He has served as Vice-President and Assistant Secretary numerous times during his tenure.
John's school volunteer service includes: PTA Board for Eastridge Elementary, Watch D.O.G. Coordinator, Lady Hawk Volleyball Booster Club Webmaster, and the Mentors Care Program. He is a PTA Lifetime Member.
He was named as the 2022 Distinguished Alumni by the Red Oak High School Alumni Association.
Anderson is a 1983 graduate of Red Oak High School and earned a Master's Degree in Technical Engineering Management from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Dallas Baptist University and an Associate's Degree in Science from Navarro College, where he was a pitcher for the Bulldogs Baseball Team.
He has spent 20+ years with Applied Materials, Inc. in the semiconductor industry. Prior to Applied Materials, John was a 12-year Navy combat veteran, an Electrician's Mate, and a Navy recruiter whose service included deployment for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
He and his wife, Karen, a 1984 ROHS graduate, have two daughters who both graduated from ROHS.
The Andersons are long-time members of Eastridge Baptist Church where he is a Deacon and actively works in the Youth Department and various church committees.
He has devoted his adult life to helping make our district and community a better place with a passion for working with and supporting the students of Red Oak ISD and the Red Oak Community.
