My name is Joseph Chaves Lombardi, and I am a high school mathematics teacher based in New Haven, CT. I also serve as an Expert Mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project. I earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Southern Connecticut State University and recently completed my M.S. in Mathematics at Central Connecticut State University. Under the mentorship of Dr. Frèdèric Latour, Ph.D., I conducted research on the unsolvability of the quintic equation and its implications for secondary education.

My teaching philosophy blends the Modern Classroom Model with the Building Thinking Classrooms approach. I strive to develop my students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through thoughtfully crafted questions and structured support.

Currently, I am pursuing a Sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership at Quinnipiac University.
