About Me

My name is Joe Morales and I am a junior at James Bowie high school. Animation is an outlet to help me better express my talents and capabilities in Adobe products. Being able to create anything from photography to animation to film is a great outlet of creativity and a great way to build an diverse portfolio for the future.

I am currently enrolled in Advanced Animation, Technical Theater 2&3, and Photography 2. I have previous experience last year in Animation 1 and Photography 1 and my freshman year I was enrolled in graphic design. During my freshman year I was able to get certified in Photoshop in my Graphic Design 1 class. I was introduced to Photoshop and iMovie three years ago, programs such as; Flash/Animate, After Effects, Premier Pro, Light Room, InDesign, Bridge and Media Encoder two years ago.

In my Animation class last year, I was able to start the year off learning flash and quickly became proficient at the program. Starting in Photography I was able to grow even more proficient at Photoshop and then transition to using Light room full time for photo editing. In the 2016 run of STC (Starlight Theater Company) Fall shows I participated in the projection crew for The Giver and used iMovie Photoshop and Premier Pro. In the STC’s 2016 Musical Tommy, I was a part of projection crew again and learned and developed my skill in Photoshop, illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects, Q-Lab and Media encoder. During the musical I filmed spliced and edited clips for parts of the show, created renderings in Photoshop and Illustrator. Additionally, I took photos and used Q-lab to arrange and run the show. In the STC’s Spring Shows 2016 I was lead of the projection crew for the show Journey, and filmed spliced and edited a 15 minuet long video In Premier Pro and After Effects, and an 8 minuet long Animation from scratch in Animate. At the End of 2016 the principle of James Bowie High School asked me to participate on behalf of the school in a SXSW film assignment. (Bowie High school does NOT have a film class so I was the single person working the class/group project). I used Premier Pro and After Effects to complete the assignment.

I plan on continuing the class I am in to their next level my senior year to better help my future in Deign. I plan on attending college in either CA, NY or MA. I am currently looking at a career in Advertisement and Design. I want to find a career that will allow me to use all my skills and natural abilities to create quality products and works of art.
