I am a tectonic geomorphologist interested in how mountain ranges evolve through time and space. My research focsuses on:
Quantifying how interactions between different forcings like tectonics and climate shape topography
Understanding the rates and mechanics of surface processes
Linkages between mountain building and the carbon cycle
Evaluating environmental hazards (e.g., landslides, debris flows, wildfire, floods) to people and infrastructure
To this end, I employ a combination of field, laboratory, and computational approaches to investigate both tectonically active and tectonically quiescent mountain ranges around the world.
