A former waiter in a Love Boat themed restaurant, I am the rarest of beasts - an extroverted accountant. I am also due to an administrative error, Afghanistan's all time leading goal-scorer in Gaelic Football.
When I told my mother a psychologist had described me as having all the classic indicators of ADHD she replied "you don't, you just get bored easily". I have an MBA and two professional qualifications, proof that my limited attention span is useful for something.
Along the way I've climbed the corporate rope ladder, including positions in the UK Civil Service with rank equivalent of Brigadier General, and currently work in software.
I write a wide array of subjects, including epic fantasy, contemporary & domestic horror, and picture book scripts.
The themes of my fantasy (PTSD, predestination, imperial violence) and contemporary work (the mundane horror of neglect and abuse) do not make it into the kid friendly work.
That said, the inclusive nature of my writing, including LGBT themes and addressing neurodiversity, as well as wit and humour, do pervade.
I have self published a novella, The Path of Pain and Ruin, on Amazon as I move towards more a traditional publishing career.
A fun interview about the writing process with Peter...
