Salmon Fishing
Salmon Fishing:
I primarily fish out of Two Rivers & Manitowoc but The Grand Hooker is on a trailer and we will go where the bite is.
Catches consist of King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Lake Trout
I enjoy teaching customers the many techniques of Salmon fishing. First time to veteran fisherman are all welcome in my boat.
Limits of mostly Coho are frequent in Port Washington in May and June. Coho trips we usually meet at the landing around sunrise and fish till we get limit (5 per person) or customers want to end the trip.
End of June, July & August find us primarily fishing out of Two Rivers. Morning trips typically meet at the landing at 3am and fish till 11am. Evening trips are 3pm till dark. Times negotiable.
When we get back to the landing I clean all the fish and bag them in ziplocks.
Things to bring:
Wisconsin Fishing License and a Great Lakes Salmon / Trout Stamp. If you don't already have a license, the least expensive option is a 2 day Great Lakes License for $14
You need a printed copy along when fishing Lake Michigan and Green Bay
Food & Drink, Alcohol is OK in moderation
Camera
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Can be cooler on the lake so some colder weather clothes is often needed. Rain can pop up quickly so having raingear is recommended.
Children lifejackets for 12 and under. I have the required Type 1 lifejackets but they are not comfortable to wear all day.
Cooler to bring your bagged and cleaned fish home in.
Lodging in Two Rivers:
Seagull Marina - this is where I primarily charter out of and have a RV on-site. It is a very convenient location if you want to camp or bring your RV.
Lighthouse Inn - Hotel right next to Seagull Marina with a decent restaurant that is especially neat if the waves are crashing into shore - ask for my charter discount.
Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - nice newer hotel just across the river from Seagull Marina
Scheffel's Hideaway Campground - a few miles North and a nice campground
Point Beach State Park - nice State Park Campground right on Lake Michigan with 6 miles of beach and the Rawley Point Lighthouse.
These are just a few of the many options.
