About me

I'm a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, and Interim Director of the Center for Food Demand Analsis and Sustainability. I conduct research and teach on the economics of agricultural markets and policy. In 2019-2020, I was Senior Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in the White House, where I worked on a range of topics including trade, agriculture, and the COVID-19 pandemic. And in 2010-2011 I was a Fulbright Scholar at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines and an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños.

My wife Arlene and I live in West Lafayette, IN with our three sons, Luke, Henry, and Joe.
