Our village

We are located in Khetasar, a small village approximately 65 kilometers from Jodhpur and nearby the town of Osian. Khetasar is famous for its sand dunes and desert landscapes; traditional Marwari culture, food, and traditions; and local agriculture production.

Our camels

Our family has kept camels for generations and used them for a variety of needs such as farming and transportation. We prioritize the welfare of our five camels at all times and have deep knowledge on how to keep them healthy & happy.

ABOUT US

I am Sumer, born in a quaint village in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, nestled amid the vast expanse of the desert. My educational journey began in the village government school, a modest institution located 13 kilometers from my home. Despite the ordinary nature of my early schooling, my aspirations took a turn when I reached the 10th grade in 2017.

Recognizing the challenges of pursuing higher education in Jodhpur, situated 65 kilometers away, I decided to contribute to my family's livelihood by assisting my father in his longstanding profession of organizing tours and managing a guest house. The transformative moment occurred in 2017 when a gracious guest named Satish, who stayed with us for three days, observed our potential.

Satish, impressed by our family's dedication, encouraged me to take our services online. Despite my initial unfamiliarity with the digital realm, he patiently imparted knowledge, leading to the listing of our Hum Store Experience on various online platforms. This digital transition not only changed our family's fortunes but also enabled me to establish a computer learning center at home.

My dream of supporting village children in their education materialized as I offered computer classes, bridging the educational gap prevalent in the village. In a setting where formal education predominantly unfolds in Hindi and Rajasthani, bringing digital literacy to the forefront became my mission.

Today, with six members in our household – my parents, two younger brothers, and a younger sister – we collaboratively work towards a brighter future. My journey from a remote village to digital entrepreneurship and community education serves as a testament to the transformative power of determination and the positive impact a small initiative can have on an entire community.
