Key task of the independent evaluation function at KfW Development Bank is to systematically assess and thus improve the effectiveness of financial development cooperation, see our vision and mission statement here. This constitutes our evaluation policy, and highlights that we are active in three pillars, (1) Ex-post evaluations, (2) Rigorous Impact Evaluations, and (3) Institutional Learning. Check out our new Interactive Database Evaluation and Learning IDEaL, a content-based App with all the results from more than 1,100 KfW project evaluations. The unit produces and publishes a biennial report reviewing the evaluation results of KfW development bank's activities; the 2021 report was published for the first time in a tandem of print and online version. One of our activities is the advancing of geo data for development aid evaluation purposes, see the open source MAPME initiative here. In a recent meta-analysis, Jonas Jessen and I analyzed the effectiveness of interventions to reduce labor market informality in low and middle income countries.
