Sungmi Co., Ltd. is issuing an urgent and severe warning regarding an ongoing overseas recruitment scam. Our company's name is being illegally used to deceive job seekers, particularly in Chennai, India.
Key Characteristics of the Scam
Fraudulent Email Domains: Scammers use emails like hire@sung-mi.com (e.g., from sung-mi.com). Our ONLY official domains are sungmi.co.kr (South Korea HQ) and sungmi.co.in (Sungmi India in Goa). Any other recruitment emails are FRAUDULENT.
Fake Offers & Documents: Fraudsters create fake positions, send forged "visa rejection" letters, and produce fake ads with our logo/Korea images.
Money Requests: They demand money for visa processing, deposits, or fees. Sungmi Co., Ltd. NEVER asks for money for recruitment. Any money request is a CLEAR SIGN OF A SCAM.
Our Official Foreign Recruitment Policy
Sungmi Co., Ltd. does NOT engage in any direct or indirect overseas recruitment. This means we do not use third-party agencies (e.g., "Voyo International") to hire foreign workers from abroad.
All foreign workers at Sungmi Co., Ltd. are assigned to us exclusively through official channels of the South Korean government. Under South Korean regulations, direct hiring of foreign workers for general labor by individual companies is prohibited. This system aims to ensure fair employment practices and prevent exploitation.
Foreign job seekers wishing to work in South Korea must apply through designated government programs, such as the Employment Permit System (EPS) under the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL). Companies like ours then receive workers randomly allocated via these official government channels, not through direct recruitment.
Therefore, it is IMPOSSIBLE for Sungmi Co., Ltd. to directly designate or hire a specific overseas job seeker.
Sungmi Co., Ltd. does NOT operate any online recruitment pages for overseas job seekers. Any such page or communication is fraudulent.

We, Sungmi Co., Ltd., are not currently hiring overseas personnel for work in South Korea directly.
The D-3 (Technical Training) and E-7 (Specific Activities) visas have entirely different purposes and requirements. Listing them together for a wide range of positions (Admin, Technician, Supervisor) is unprofessional and demonstrates a lack of knowledge about actual Korean immigration procedures. According to official Korean government policies like the Employment Permit System (EPS), it is not possible for a manufacturing company like ours to directly recruit overseas workers in this manner for such diverse roles.
The domain sung-mi.com is fraudulent and has no affiliation with us.
Phone Number (+91 99946 91711): The +91 country code indicates this is an Indian phone number. It is highly improbable that an official recruitment contact for a Korean company would be a personal Indian mobile number.
Processing Duration : 5 Months: Stating a long processing time of "5 Months" is a major red flag. Scammers often use long timelines to create multiple opportunities to demand money from victims under various pretexts, such as visa fees, security deposits, or administrative charges.
We Do NOT Use Third-Party Recruitment Agencies for Overseas Hiring.
Any communication from agencies like "Voyo International" claiming to represent us is false.
We CANNOT Directly Recruit Workers from Overseas.
Under South Korean law, specifically the Employment Permit System (EPS), Korean manufacturing companies like Sungmi are prohibited from directly selecting and hiring workers from overseas for the types of positions listed in the fake ad (e.g., Admin, Supervisor, Technician).
Therefore, any advertisement or agent claiming to be hiring directly for Sungmi in Korea is automatically fraudulent. We do not operate our own overseas recruitment channels or web pages for these purposes.
This Rejection Letter is a Forgery.
The document shown left(or above), appearing to be from the Korean "Ministry of Employment and Labor," is fake. Korean government documents do not look like this and are not issued for these purposes.
If you have received a document like this, please know it is fake. In addition to the warnings we have previously issued, please pay attention to these specific red flags found only in this type of letter:
Unrealistic Benefits:
The letter promises benefits that are not aligned with South Korean labor laws or our company's policies, such as "60 days paid leave per Annum". This is an unrealistically generous offer designed to trick applicants.
Fraudulent Signature and Title:
The signature and the Korean name on the letter do not belong to anyone at our company and are completely fabricated.
The title "Managing Director" is not a standard title used in our official Korean management structure, which is another sign of forgery.
