About Jo Grim
Jo Grim (They/Them/Theirs) is an educator with a passion for literacy, writing, social emotional learning, and social justice. Since 2004, They have volunteered and worked with Philadelphia youth in numerous settings and with many organizations including Spiral Q Puppet Theatre, Mighty Writers, the School District of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Jo worked as an Assistant Preschool teacher at Children's Village from March 2022 until December 2023. In December, Jo began a new position as a Head Teacher at the Children's Community School. Jo is a lifelong learner. They studied Art History at Temple University (BA, 2008), Creative Writing at the New School (MFA, 2012), and English Language and Literature at Lehigh University (MA, 2016). Currently, Jo is enrolled in a Pre-k-4th grade certification program at Easter University. They have also taught and tutored college writing at Lehigh University and Bucks County Community College. When not teaching, Jo loves to spend time being active outdoors. Find them on their bike, on the soccer field, or birding at the Woodlands, a favorite Philly spot.
