An easy way to design e-learning lessons is to house lessons in what is called a HyperDoc.
Hyper: The document links out to outside sites using internet links, or Hyperlinks.
Doc: A Google Doc.
HyperDocs break down content into different sections. While there are many variations on structure, the most commonly used is Explore - Explain - Apply - Extend model.
Explore: Where students dive into a new topic. Ideally, students can explore a few topics and choose their favorite. This could be reading a linked set of texts, watching a video, interacting with outside materials, etc.
Explain: Where students get the meat of lesson; your teaching. Link to video instruction, tutorials on tools, etc.
Apply: Where students do the activity that they will turn in to you. This might be a Google Forms assessment, a Quizziz, a Socrative, a Slide Deck they create and turn in. This is where you collect your evidence of understanding.
Extend: This is optional. This is where your early finishers and those who go above and beyond can take their learning to the next step. Students could make a video for other students, perfect and publish their work, etc.
