I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Computing and Information Technology, Makerere University. I am the scientific head of the Makerere Artificial Intelligence Lab and senior research fellow in the Software Systems Center at Makerere University. I am a board member of Data Science Africa which aims to grow Data Science professionals in Africa.

My research interests are the use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Responsible AI and their application in health and agriculture. Through the Makerere Artificial Intelligence lab, I provide an environment to nurture and build institutional data science research training capacity for masters and PhD researchers.

I obtained a PhD in Computer Science from Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the Architecture of Information Systems group under the supervision of prof. dr. ir. W. M.P. van der Aalst and Dr. M. Westergaard.   My PhD study involved investigating the use of business process simulation and process mining to analyse the resource perspective of business processes.

In October 2006, I obtained a MSc in Computer Science from the then Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (now School of Computing and Informatics Technology) of Makerere University.

In January 2005, I obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science  from the Institute of Computer Science, Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
