I am currently a student at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. I am in the Adult Studies Program working toward obtaining my teaching liscensure with a major in Elementry Education (K-6) and a minor in Special Education. I also have a B.A. in Business Communication as I worked in the legal industry before leaving the workforce to start a family.
Today, along with my adult studies courses, I work as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional and I am married with 2 children ages 8 and 10. It is through them that I have become amazed with children's ability to learn, grow, adapt and bring joy. I have learned through my own children how amazing and different they/we all are and how important education is to the future generation of our world.
Philosophy of Education
My philosophy of education is one of pragmatism and inclusion, I believe that all children have what it takes to learn and it is my job to figure out the best way to teach them. I plan to assist my future students in forming their educational foundation and to develop their individual thought processes. I hope to be lucky enough to guide and facilitate their learning. I intend to create a learning environment where everyone feels seen and valued by celebrating our entire learning community and all of our talents.
I believe that elementry education should be the spring board forward into not only future learning, but future questioning and new, futuristic solutions. I hope to spark curiosity and introduce tools in logical order for my future students to help them to better navigate their own minds and through their (our) world. I want them to know that their potential is enormous.
