Philosophy of Education
My philosophy of education is that teachers themselves need to be great examples and we must hold students to high standards. I believe to do this effectively, relationships need to be a priority. This pertains to all relationships a teacher has including students, parents, team members and the community. Without respectful relationships, that are open to learning and sharing, an environment of learning and growth is hard to foster. I believe a way to accomplish this is to take time to build relationships with care and respect, and to take time to celebrate differences and challenges as well as strengths and gifts. I believe that there is an unlimited amount of knowledge and that I can learn well into old age and one way to do this is to foster curiosity and creativity within myself. For this reason, I will make an effort to foster the same curiosity and creativity in my students so that their minds are open to learning and discovering. I enjoy being part of an academic community, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to facilitate learning to young students. My hope is that they grow up with an open and positive mind and are able to fulfill their potential.
