Welcome to VPM DDAF!

Welcome to DDAF -- your hub at Memorial for the performing arts! Our club is organized into three branches: Drama, Debate, and Forensics, a type of competitive public speaking. DDAF is a fantastic community and the perfect place for your voice and ideas to be heard, whether it be onstage, backstage, or competitively.

Drama (Acting):

Our drama program at VPM is called the Memorial Theatre Company, or MTC for short. The program puts on two plays and one musical every year. In preparation for the shows, actors will learn choreography, songs, and lines. The program also heavily focuses on community and teamwork. Join our Google Classroom  to stay updated on exciting opportunities coming this fall. Find more information on the "Drama- Actors" tab of this website.

(Side note: Helping out at Crew is heavily encouraged for actors looking to get cast for a shows.)

Debate:

Debate is competitive argumentation with events allowing you to go solo or with a partner.  Topics are focused on national or international policies and are debated on for two months before a new topic is released. Debaters can attend tournaments across the country with the main focus being within the state. There are overnight trips, team-traveling to different cities, and more. If you want to gain knowledge and show it off in a competitive event on mainstream topics like Medicare For All,  debate is for you! Find out more  under the "Debate" tab

Forensics:

JOIN A TEAM THAT'S WON STATE 13 YEARS...IN A ROW!

Forensics is competitive public speaking with both speech and interpretation (acting) categories. Forensicators attend tournaments all over Wisconsin and compete against other students in their category.  This branch of the club is perfect for anyone with a voice they want to share or a love for acting. Find more information about the specific categories on the "Forensics" tab of this website.

Crew and Tech:

Crew and Tech are a great way to get involved with the drama side of DDAF. We work on set design and construction, costuming, makeup, lighting, sound, and more for all the shows at Memorial. If you want to get involved with drama, but acting and singing aren't really your thing, this is a great alternative! Find more on the "Stagehands" tab.
