Peer Review Process

The Journal of Medical Laboratory Science & Diagnostics (JMLSD) follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, originality, and integrity of all published articles.

Type of Peer Review

JMLSD adopts a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which:

• The identity of authors is concealed from reviewers

• The identity of reviewers is concealed from authors

This process ensures fair, unbiased, and objective evaluation of manuscripts.

Review Procedure

1. Initial Editorial Screening

   • Manuscripts are checked for journal scope, format, originality, and ethical compliance.

   • Submissions failing to meet basic requirements may be rejected at this stage.
     
     

2. Peer Review Assignment

   • Eligible manuscripts are sent to two or more subject experts for review.
     
     

3. Review Evaluation
   Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

   • Scientific relevance and originality

   • Methodology and data analysis

   • Clarity of presentation

   • Ethical compliance

   • Validity of conclusions
     
     

4. Editorial Decision
   Based on reviewer recommendations, the Editor may decide:
   
   

   • Accept

   • Accept with minor revisions

   • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

   • Reject
     
     

Review Timeline

• Initial editorial screening: 5–7 days

• Peer review process: 2–4 weeks

• Final decision: Communicated via email to the corresponding author
  
  

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as strictly confidential. Reviewers are not permitted to share or use unpublished material for personal or professional purposes.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

• Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback

• Declare any conflict of interest

• Maintain confidentiality

Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to:

• Respond to reviewer comments respectfully and thoroughly

• Submit revised manuscripts within the stipulated time

Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations and the journal’s academic standards.
