If you would like to "pass" your turn for any of these games, just chant or sing this phrase when we get to you.
Think about some places and then write down one answer. When it's your turn, sing/chant your answer. Don't worry about being on the rhythm right now. :-)
Choose one of the answers (city or country).
Choose one of the answers (outside or inside).
Come up with your answer for each of these games. Write your answers down so you can remember what you answered for each.
What's your favorite food?
What's your favorite animal?
What's a game you like to play?
Practice singing and/or chanting the month in which you were born.
When it comes to your turn, sing or chant it out loud!
Ideas for using this song:
Sing the song and act out patting with one, two, three, four, and five fingers before going to sleep.
Change the name for each verse to a student in your class until everyone gets a chance to be the person in the song.
Change "hammer" to something from the school (pencil, crayon, paper, color, and so on).
Play the Circle Game.
Arrange students in a circle (standing or sitting).
During the song everyone pats with the 1, 2, 3, 4, then 5 fingers (adding with each verse).
Johnny (one student) walks around the outside. On the word "two" that person picks one person. The two (the first and second students) continue walking around the outside of the circle.
The 2nd person picks another person on "three." All three walk around the circle.
The pattern continues through "five" (when five people are walking around the circle).
On "sleep" everyone falls asleep.
Create something like this using student names or other words.
Do it as a whole group (one line) or create up to four groups to play/pat at the same time.
