On the issues

At the core of my fiscal policies are the following principles:

• Makes sure that those who earn more pay their fair share
• And that those who make less pay less
• No reckless usage of public funds and increasing fiscal responsibility
• A transfer more than $18 bn. to the state’s rainy day fund in order to be prepared for future economic downturns and to protect our citizens
• A balanced budget
• A smaller government expenditure to GDP ratio by reducing the size of the government

My core positions:

• Capitalism is the best economic system we have
• However, we must not leave millions of hard-working Americans behind in a life of poverty when a few don’t even have to work anymore yet still reap the largest benefits
• Taxes must be used in a reasonable way – find a balance between redistributing all the wealth and getting the government out of your daily life
• Keynes was right in suggesting that in time of crisis, the government has to act in order to reduce the negative effects
• However, this has to happen in a responsible way, and waste must be eliminated to the greatest extent possible
• We must be prepared for shocks from foreign nations as well as other states, and thus fill our rainy day fund in order to absorb the gravest impacts

My core positions:

• MOOCs hold a massive potential and I push for the Sierra public university systems to create massive open online courses for 90% of their total courses over the next five years
• Apprenticeships are a great model for young people who want to specialize in one field, but don’t want to attend universities, yet lack the government’s assistance and businesses’ acceptance

My core positions:

• No one is left behind. Period.
• The American Dream is a core pillar of our society – we must fight for it
• Immigrants are a great way to make our country even better, and I support taking in all of those who are dedicated to this country, and who can fulfill basic requirements like speaking our language

My core positions:

• Climate change is as much a fact as Santa Claus is a myth
• Space and the oceans are the two major frontiers in this century, and we have to explore both of them
• Tackle water supply and consumption problems, e.g. by pricing in water stress to discourage wasteful use

My core positions:

• Privately provided healthcare creates competition leading to the world’s most advanced healthcare, and we should encourage this contest, not stifle it
• Nationalized healthcare will only create a two-tier system with an inefficient government sector and a great private sector for the elites
