This is a short course for those who are planning to take JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) this year or in the near future. The course helps students to understand the outline of JLPT and improve their Japanese skills in grammar, vocabulary, Kanji, reading and listening comprehension. The course is open to public and is non-credit.

NOTE: JLPT test registration is NOT required for this course.
Two courses will be offered for students who want to take JLPT N1, N2, N3, or N4.
Course A N3/N4
N5 course (TBA) : Ideal for students who
know 100 Kanji and 800 vocabulary
have studied Japanese for 150 hours
know basic grammar
have completed JAPAN 101 or JAPAN102
N4 course: Ideal for students who
know 300 Kanji and 1500 vocabulary
have studied Japanese for 300 hours.
know basic/intermediate grammar
have completed JAPAN102 (A+) or JAPAN201/202
N3 course: Ideal for students who
know 650 Kanji and 3750 vocabulary
have studied Japanese for 400-500 hours.
know basic/intermediate grammar
have completed JAPAN301 (A or A+) or JAPAN301
Course B N2(N1)
N2 Course: Ideal for students who
know at least 1000 Kanji and 6000 vocabulary
have studied Japanese for 600 hours
know basic/intermediate grammar
want to work in Japan
N1 Course: Ideal for students who
know at least 2000 Kanji and 10,000 vocabulary
have studied Japanese for 900 hours
know basic/intermediate grammar
want to study at university or work in Japan
