Trans-Equatorial Propagation to Japan on 18 MHz

On 18 MHz CW, one JA station made it into the log. The audio recordings showed the time evolution of readability of CW signal from ZS1, which suggested the ionospheric chordal hop propagation over the equatorial ionospheric anomaly (EIA) region.
The HF-START simulation reproduced the path between JA and ZS1 based on the coupling model of Earth's atmosphere and ionosphere with observed parameters, showing trans-equatorial propagation was evident over the EIA region at the time of QSO.
