In recent years, I have advanced my research on quantifying the interactions between the biosphere and atmosphere across various land surface types and ecosystems at the landscape scale. With funding support from both the university and government agencies, including the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), my research group has collaborated with other teams to conduct numerous field measurements across different land-cover types in northern Taiwan. These diverse sites range from the cloud forests of Chilan Mountain in I-lan, to the estuary wetlands of Guandu in Taipei, and the tea fields of Pinglin in New Taipei City. At these study locations, my research group employed the eddy-covariance technique to quantify the fluxes at the interface between the terrestrial biosphere and the near-surface atmospheric boundary layer. This methodology allowed us to characterize how these varied landscapes respond and interact with the environment over different temporal and spatial scales. Through these field measurements and collaborations, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of biosphere-atmosphere exchanges at the landscape scale and further explored how these mechanisms are influenced by human activities.
