When I was experimenting with ways to change the color of copper, I created these hearts using borax and my torch.  They came out differently than I had intended,  but I liked the effect. It reminded me of bruised hearts.  

     I decided a good counter balance would be to use garnet beads because garnets symbolize love and passion and they are said to promote emotional healing and balance.
