John Jay High School’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, known as The Math Honor Society, is dedicated to promoting both scholarship and enjoyment of the field of mathematics. The Math Honor Society emphasizes the foundational pillars of Scholarship, Integrity, Enrichment and Service. We collaborate with local elementary schools, the community library, and our own high school to provide mathematics students with assistance from our dedicated members.
The Math Honor Society also sponsors John Jay’s Mathematics Team, offering students opportunities to explore mathematics beyond the standard curriculum and participate in friendly competitions with other local schools. Our Society exemplifies the commitment of the entire school community and its officers to encouraging interest and excellence in mathematics among our students.
