Jose Jacobo, PhD. 

Jose Jacobo received his PhD in Hispanic Studies from Texas A&M University in August 2023. He holds a Master’s of Arts in Spanish as well as a Certificate in Translation Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research interests include racial studies in Mexican literature, syncretic religions in Latin America, and identity through cultural expressions. 

He has presented his research at conferences such as (1) the National Association of African American Studies & Affiliates Conference in Dallas, Texas in February 2019 and February 2020; (2) the 48th Meeting of the Linguistic Association of the Southwest at Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge in November, 2019; (3) the XXV Congreso de Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea in El Paso, Texas in March 2020; and (4) the Latin American Studies Association in Guadalajara, Mexico in May 2020. 

He is currently a Lecturer teaching Spanish at Rice University.
