Flags ("the app") is an Android application that helps users learn country flags through quizzes, a country encyclopedia, and flashcards. This privacy policy explains what information the app handles and how.
## 1. Data we collect ourselves
We do **not** collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information ourselves. The app does not require an account, does not contain a contact form, and does not upload your quiz scores, study progress, or any other usage data to our servers.
All learning progress (countries marked as learned, quiz history, achievements, settings) is stored **locally on your device** in app-private storage and never leaves the device through code we wrote.
## 2. Data collected by third-party SDKs
To support the app and show advertising, the app integrates the following Google SDKs. Each one is governed by Google's own privacy practices.
### 2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
- **What is collected:** advertising ID, device model, OS version, approximate location derived from IP address, ad interaction events.
- **Why:** to serve and measure advertisements, including personalized ads where permitted.
- **More info:** https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- **Opt out:** Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" / "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
### 2.2 Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
- **What is collected:** crash stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, anonymous installation UUID, system state at the time of crash.
- **Why:** to detect and fix crashes so the app stays stable. Crashlytics is only active in release builds.
- **More info:** https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
## 3. Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions:
- **INTERNET** — required to fetch advertisements and report crashes.
- **VIBRATE** — used for haptic feedback on quiz answers.
The app does **not** request access to contacts, photos, location services, microphone, camera, calendar, or storage.
## 4. Children
The app is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and that personal information was inadvertently collected by a third-party SDK, please contact us at the email above and we will work with the relevant provider to address it.
## 5. Your rights
- **Local data:** you can erase all locally stored progress at any time by clearing the app's data from Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
- **Advertising:** you can reset or delete your advertising ID through Android Settings as described in §2.1.
- **EU/EEA, UK, California, and similar jurisdictions:** to the extent any data is processed about you, you have the rights granted by your local law (access, correction, deletion, objection, portability). Because we ourselves do not collect or store any personal data, requests should be directed to Google for AdMob/Firebase-related data. For any question or concern, contact us at hsh13828@gmail.com.
## 6. Data security
All network traffic from the third-party SDKs is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS). Locally stored data is sandboxed by Android in app-private storage that is not accessible to other apps.
## 7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the "Last updated" date and, if appropriate, communicate the change in the app or on the listing page. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.
## 8. Contact
Questions, requests, or concerns regarding this policy can be sent to **hsh13828@gmail.com**.
