Hi, I'm Jit Sarkar, a researcher passionate about sustainable bioprocessing, nanotechnology, and the circular economy. My academic and research journey revolves around transforming agricultural waste, especially rice straw, into valuable nanomaterials for environmental and agricultural applications.
I recently submitted my Ph.D. in Botany, where I developed an integrated fungal biorefinery approach to produce nanocellulose, lignin nanoparticles, and nanosilica from paddy straw. We further engineer these nanomaterials into smart nanocomposite hydrogels for slow-release fertilisers, thereby supporting environmentally friendly farming practices.
