  • Immune Evasion strategies of SARS-CoV-2, Human species is exposed to thousands and millions of pathogens in nature but they have protection against them because of immunogical barriers. This surveillance is breached when we are exposed to a new pathogen or the immunity is compromised by any reason. I have characterized the role of ORF8 protein of SARS-CoV-2 which evades the Alternative pathway of complement system, helps the virus in getting a foothold and establish infection. Thus knowing the host and SARS-CoV-2 interactions and how these viruses evade the innate immunity in depth, gives us an opportunity to prepare for the second line of more efficacious therapeutics.

  • “Validation and characterization of novel functional role of SARS-CoV-2 ORF8 protein in tricking host complement system using molecular mimicry” Sponsored by DBT Govt. of India in Department of Molecular Medicine, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Technology, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India from 23rd August 2021 to 4th November 2022.

  • “A novel vaccine evaluation platform to support SARS-CoV-2 vaccine development in resource-limiting settings” funded by BIRAC, DBT Govt. of India in National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India from 2 nd November 2020 to 30 th June 2021.
