Halide perovskites
Halide perovskites
Halide perovskites are a group of organic/inorganic semiconductor materials. Any material which follows the crystal structure of ABX3 is called perovskite. Here A is generally [CH3NH3] or Cs, B is generally Pb or Sn and X is I, Br or Cl. These materials have some exceptional properties such as solution processibility, high PLQY yield, high defect tolerance, and high absorption coefficient. Therefore, these materials are among one the best candidates for the active materials for next-generation solar cells. Due to their high PLQY these materials can also be used for making high-efficiency solution processible light-emitting diodes. Perovskites display the property of ion migration which can be used for energy storage devices or in making synoptic devices.
