Leadership Roles in IEEE

- Academia, Industry and Govt. Outreach Committee Member, IEEE Computer Society India Council. (Since June 2018)

- Treasurer, IEEE Computer Society India Council SAC (since Feb 2018)

- Joint Secretary, Young Professionals Affinity Group, IEEE Hyderabad Section. (Since Jan 2017)

With the dedication and commitment shown by me in AICSC’16 and TES-2016, I got a chance to be the part of YP Affinity Group as well. I have been the active part of YP’s events and on Oct 4, 2017, I have planned the STEP Event and IEEE Day Celebration for YP in CMRIT-Hyderabad.

- IEEE Computer Society Student Ambassador (awarded with Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship). (Since Dec 2017)

- Chair, IIIT-H IEEE Students' Branch. (Since Nov 2016)

After joining IIIT-Hyderabad in Aug 2016, after searching IEEE Students’ Branch here, I found it dormant since 2010. The reason behind it, is the coding and research culture in IIIT. B.Tech students think it as a waste of time and research students are always busy in research. The first two big events AICSC’16 and IEEE TES-2016, we got without much efforts but managing these two India Level events was a big ask for a new inexperience team of volunteers. I was the Chairman of SB so took lead to fulfil all the logistics requirements for both the events internally. Success of both the events sent a clear message to the Hyderabad Section that along with the infrastructure of IIIT-Hyderabad, there is a dedicated team of volunteers to help the events.

After that we never looked back and have conducted 9 events till now successfully. Along with 2 Distinguish Lectures and 4 Expert Talks, we have given 3 benchmark workshops to Hyderabad Section. Research Workshop has got space in R-10 Newsletter (next release). It had 13 speakers involved from IIT-Hyderabad, IIIT-Hyderabad and IISc Bangalore for 13 different topics related to research. I took the responsibility to approach the speakers for this workshop. Similarly managed Hadoop Workshop and HyWIT-2017 to make them a big success. Along with the internal coordination, I always worked as a bridge between Hyderabad Section Society Chapters and IIIT SB Volunteers.

Now due to the conduction of regular and impressive events, we have attracted few more volunteers from B.Tech as well. Now it’s a team of 14 volunteers. Now we have made our FB Page active, I am encouraging new volunteers to take lead so that we (initial 6 volunteers) can focus on research as well. I am passing on the present knowledge to them, so that they don’t face all issues we faced for managing any event.

We have planned to celebrate IEEE Day Event in IIIT on Oct 3 and inviting the whole Hyderabad Section. Hyderabad Section have approached us for Section Students’ Congress 2017 and hopefull we will get the chance to conduct that event as well.

- Ambassador, IEEEXtreme 2017, ID: IEEEXTREME17243.

- Ambassador, IEEE Day 2017.

Being IEEE Day Ambassador, I have already planned 2 events (IIIT and CMRIT) mentioned above and asked for few good visits in Google and Micro Soft as well as the IEEE Day celebration part.

- IEEE Region-10 (Asia-Pacific) SAC Paper Contest Coordinator. (2016)

I have worked as R-10 SAC last year and successfully conducted the Paper Contest and also displayed the Final Result on time for the Contest. I also made the rules for contest for the 1st time which has been used by R-10 this year as well. Searching of Reviewers was also done by me. 1st time introduced the checking of papers using turnitin web-software for plagiarism checking.

- Member of Advisory Committee/ Program Committee Member/ Scientific Committee Member/ Track Chair/ Technical Chair/ Reviewer-ship in many IEEE International Conferences. (Since 2014 to Present)

So I have tried my best to complete my duties as the student leader in IIIT and outside as well. I made the SB active after the 7 long years of dormant period. I kept the SB active even after having Research Degree volunteers with me and I myself doing a research degree.
