ABOUT ME
I hold a Ph.D in Data Science from a joint program with Scuola Normale Superiore, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, IMT School for Advanced Studies, National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and University of Pisa.
I am currently a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in the Department of Digital and Computational Demography, where my work revolves around developing innovative methods to enhance relevant statistics on international migration using big data analytics. My primary research areas lie in international (human) migration, data science, and network science. Moreover, my research is informed by and intersects with fields such as economics, political science, and digital sociology.
My current research interests focus on exploring how big data sources can aid our understanding of the socio-political and cultural contexts of migration, including the role of social networks, integration, and attitudes towards migration.
I am also a member of the Complex Systems Society council since 2021.
