Jesus Youth An International Association of the Church
Youth-hood is the time when we became stubborn vehemently on the ideological world. Option for the marginalized and liberation movement were the catchwords to fire the vibrant mind. The social groups formed for the reaching out the peripheries which were gone deep in to the marrows during the philosophical studies at Paurastya Vidya pitam, Vadavathoor, Kottayam. During the philosophy formation the Jesus Fraternity and Youth were became the resting space for the fired minds.
Jesus Fraternity: was an organization to reach-out to the prisoners and their rehabilitation process. We were more than happy to sacrifice the rarely given holidays to be the part of the prison ministry. Harder the permission process, tougher we became to face it. We begged literally, after the street performance, with face raised at the peak of confidence. Rev. Fr Macholil was our mentor and source of fire. Those were the days we experienced the magnanimity of the people, without any tint of discrimination of cast and religion, extended their fragile hand to support this movement. We learned to weep with prisoners, made roundabout when felt that the prisoners were more humane than us, heard about the abandoned families of the released prisoners with hot tears rolled through the cheeks.... learned to eat without waste, learned a lot...
Jesus Youth: An International Association of the Church. The wildfire spreads over the dried nearby transgressing the presumed boundaries and the result is the unsegmented uniformity covered by the ashes, ready to be set on with even a gentle breeze, unleashing again the redhot fire. Yes! Again the minds got fire for the youth, carried along with Jesus Youth.
A life based on six pillars
An active participation in the JY movement were initiated from 1998 on wards which frequently covered with ashes, burred deep beneath the heart. afet a decade, unceasingly burst out with association to youth again at Vimal Jyothi
Ordinary people, everyday lives, universities, schools, offices, families, children, teens, couples, relationships, struggles, pain, laughter– Jesus Youth is present and at work in all these diverse set of life situations. Deeply human, people-oriented and culture-sensitive, the movement works through local individuals across different demographics and geographies. ....
Every initiative of the movement emerges from genuine personal inspirations and is passionately driven by the love of the Heavenly Father for every person on the face of the earth. ....
The Jesus Youth life is built around true, enduring friendships. Hands held together, journeys begun and continued together, words of comfort and understanding, prayers lifted up in unity–all these expressions of friendship have been the warp and weft of the movement. Here, simple friendships often deepen into spiritual relationships within cell groups, sharing groups, prayer groups and other meeting points while remaining rooted in an all encompassing friendship with Jesus. ....
