Co-superviosrs: Prof. Chenghua Lin, Dr. Mustafa Mustafa
His research focuses on LLM, BCI, neural decoding, and foundation models. I study representation learning and long-sequence modeling for non-invasive brain signals. He aims to build foundation models for robust and generalizable neural decoding.
Wenhao Cai
Main Superviosr: Dr. Jingyuan Sun
Co-superviosrs: Dr. Hongpeng Zhou, Prof. Goran Nenadic
He is working on foundation models for heterogeneous multi-omics data, aiming to develop scalable and robust computational frameworks for understanding disease-related tissue organization and dynamics. Outside of research, he enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and exploring diverse cuisines.
Yizheng Sun
Main Superviosr: Dr. Riza Battista
Co-superviosrs: Dr. Jingyuan Sun, Prof. Chenghua Lin
His research focuses on large language models, with particular interests in multi-modal learning and computational efficiency. His doctoral work explores novel methods for token pruning, compression, and optimization in multi-modal LLMs, aiming to reduce computational overhead without sacrificing performance. Beyond his core research, he is interested in the broader impact of efficient AI.
Yang Cui
Main Superviosr: Prof. Goran Nenadic
Co-superviosrs: Dr. Jingyuan Sun
His research focuses on neural encoding, using large language models (LLMs) as computational hypotheses to investigate how the human brain processes language. He develops interpretable and biologically informed modeling approaches—such as computational lesions and spiking neural networks—to uncover shared and language-specific mechanisms of multilingual language comprehension.
