Biography

Dr. Jin Xie joined Peking University HSBC Business School in 2022 as an Assistant Professor and was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include the intersection between accounting and macroeconomics, corporate fraud, accounting standards, antitrust, and Chinese economy. He has published in leading economics and accounting journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Accounting Research and the American Economic Association Papers and Proceedings. His research won the 2018 China Financial Research Conference (CFRC) Best Paper Award (2018 中国金融学术年会最佳论文奖 ). Xie frequently presents his research at major international conferences such as the Financial Accounting Reporting Section (FARS) Midyear Meeting, the American Finance Association Annual Meeting (AFA), the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER). His research was covered by Bloomberg, Chicago Booth Review and China Business Knowledge @ CUHK. Xie is a guest speaker at the CCTV-2 (央视财经), a Chinese free-to-air television channel broadcasting programs on the economy and life services.
