Title: A Study and Development of an Intelligent Assistive Robotic Walker for Health Condition-Based Walking Rehabilitation and Monitoring System for People with Parkinson’s
Department: Human Intelligence Systems, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology
Date: September 2022
Abstract:
Parkinson’s disease causes both motor and non-motor symptoms, where assistive robotics and rehabilitation devices are increasingly demanding for daily life tasks of Persons with Parkinson’s (PwP). This study aims to develop an intelligent assistive robotic walker system framework that can provide health condition-based rehabilitation assistance while addressing both motor and non-motor manifestations. The proposed walker system is a combination of integrated a PPG and insole sensors. The suggested walker system architecture offers a rehabilitation monitoring platform using a PPG sensor, voice assistant, and HEBI actuators to address non-motor symptoms like HR failures. In addition, the proposed system investigates the motor symptoms like slow gait speed and imperiled gaits features by simultaneous use of the walker with an insoles sensor system. Incorporating an IoT platform with the system’s framework, a real-time serial monitor interacts in the same network protocol. Further, a face tracking system interacts with the walker for the user interface level to track the user’s position via a web camera. The proposed method was evaluated multiple times with healthy subjects and PD patients using different walking parameters. The finding shows HR conditions and walking performances by comparing imperiled gaits and HR features. Therapists can also receive treatment information at anytime. This system can be applied in a real-world application with any existing walker model for elders and PwP.

Title: Design and Construction of a Smart Public Sanitation System
Department: Department of Mechatronics Engineering, World University of Bangladesh.
Date: September 2018
Abstract
A sanitation technology is ‘smart’ when adapted to local conditions and changing environments. This paper describes the smart health safety public sanitation system to create human behavior by using flash. The system has been constructed based on Artificial Intelligence using the microcontroller series Arduino UNO. Push buttons has been used to operate the servo mechanism for door lock operation to lock and unlock the door according to the user interface. This project has been designed with an experimental methodology to fulfill the vision of sustainable world from third world countries. A smart dustbin has been used in the system. The dustbin is developed using ultrasonic sensor technology to operate the servomotor. To abate the electricity cost, automatic day light-controlled sensor technology is also used. To make the system user-friendly an emergency button has been also used for emergency exit. Moreover, a water level indicator has been set up to measure the water level inside the flush tank and an alarming system has been also built to monitor the total process of this system. This is a revolutionary invent to ensure health safety in public sanitation.
