If you want a versatile, reusable gel mat that handles winter's cold with ease and keeps small items like keys and phones from sliding across your dash without residue, choose JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non; if you need a rigid, structural mount base that works specifically with suction cup systems for larger devices and demands a hard bracket for stability, choose Generic Car Dash Sticky.
• JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non offers a flexible, cuttable gel pad made of premium PU material that remains tacky in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 120°C, making it ideal for winter driving; its trade-off is that it lacks a built-in bracket or stand mechanism, requiring you to place items directly on the surface.
• Best for: The JIMISHA pad is perfect for drivers who need a low-profile solution for multiple small items (keys, coins, glasses) and want a product they can wash and reuse indefinitely.
• Best for: The Generic sticky pad is better suited for drivers who already own a suction cup mount and need a dedicated, non-slip base plate to ensure their phone doesn't wobble during aggressive driving.
The JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non Slip Mat is fundamentally a piece of functional art designed for the minimalist driver. At first glance, it looks like a simple black square, but the engineering behind it is all about adaptability. This specific material choice is what sets it apart in real-world scenarios, particularly when the temperature drops below freezing. The manufacturer specifies that this gel is safe to use between -20°C and 120°C. That wide thermal window means you do not have to worry about the adhesive turning brittle and cracking off your dashboard on a snowy morning, nor do you have to fear it melting into a gooey mess during a hot summer afternoon.
This product shines for those who treat their dashboard as a multi-tool zone rather than a dedicated phone mount spot. Because the pads come in a 2-pack and measure 6.3 by 5.1 inches, you have enough surface area to handle a variety of objects simultaneously. I am thinking of the driver who needs to keep their radar detector, a spare set of house keys, a pair of sunglasses, and maybe a few coins all within reach but securely held down. The ability to cut the pad down to smaller pieces is a significant design advantage. If you only need a tiny patch for a remote control or a coin holder, you can trim the excess without wasting the rest of the sheet. This customization factor makes it incredibly efficient for users who don't want to buy different sized mats for different needs.
However, this product is not for everyone. If your primary goal is to hold a large smartphone in a landscape orientation using a mechanical arm, this gel pad will feel insufficient because it lacks any structural support. It relies entirely on the friction of the gel itself. You must also be willing to perform basic maintenance; the "Reusable & Renewable Tackiness" feature requires you to rinse the pad under warm water and soap to clean it and restore its stickiness over time. If you are looking for a "set it and forget it" hardware solution that holds a heavy phone steady via a clamp, this soft gel might not provide the rigidity you expect. It is best for those who value versatility, reusability, and a low-profile aesthetic over mechanical locking mechanisms.

The Generic Car Dash Sticky Pad takes a completely different approach to the problem of slipping items. Instead of relying on a soft, squishy gel layer, this product focuses on structural integrity through a robust PC (polycarbonate) material bracket. The core function here is to serve as the foundation for a suction cup system. The description highlights that the curved design of the pad increases contact surfaces with the dashboard, which aids in the adsorption effect of suction cups. This suggests that the product is engineered to work in tandem with other mounting hardware rather than standing alone as a simple anti-slip mat. If you have a heavy phone or a tablet that tends to slide or tilt, this hard bracket provides the necessary stiffness to prevent shaking.
For the driver who prioritizes a stable viewing angle above all else, this generic option addresses the issue of vibration. The bullet points explicitly mention preventing slipping or shaking, ensuring a stable and firm holding structure for devices. This is achieved by gluing the base to the dashboard and then inserting the bracket, which allows for an adjustable and removable stand. This modularity is key for users who might want to move their phone mount from one vehicle to another or adjust the angle frequently throughout the day. The use of double-sided tape ensures it sticks securely to smooth surfaces without damaging the car's interior, and it peels off effortlessly when removal is needed.
That said, there are limitations to this design that you should consider before buying. Unlike the JIMISHA option, there is no mention of cutting this pad down or customizing its shape. It is a fixed-size component meant to work with specific suction cup attachments. Furthermore, while it claims high and low-temperature resistance, the focus is on the durability of the bracket and the tape rather than the pliability of a gel layer. If you need to secure loose change, a wallet, or a GPS unit that doesn't have a suction cup attachment, this rigid base plate is likely overkill and less convenient. It is strictly for those who have identified a gap in their current setup where a suction cup mount feels too shaky or insecure.
• Best for winter driving conditions → JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non: The explicit temperature rating of -20°C ensures the gel stays flexible and effective in freezing weather, whereas the generic pad relies on tape and plastic brackets which can sometimes lose adhesion in extreme cold.
• Best for heavy device stability with suction cups → Generic Car Dash Sticky: The robust PC bracket is designed specifically to reduce shaking and provide a firm anchor point for phone mounts that rely on suction technology.
• Best for reusability and cleaning → JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non: You can wash the gel pads with warm water and soap to renew their tackiness, whereas the generic pad's adhesive strength depends on the initial quality of the double-sided tape which degrades once removed.
• Best for a dedicated phone mount base → Generic Car Dash Sticky: If you already own a suction cup mount and just need a better base to stop it from sliding, this is the direct solution.
• Best for a low-profile, flush look → JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non: The gel sits flat against the dashboard without adding height or bulk, unlike the bracket system of the generic pad.
• Best for long-term value → JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non: Since the pads are renewable and come in a pack of two, you get more utility per purchase compared to the single-use nature of the generic base.
After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases for both products, I would personally buy the JIMISHA Car Dashboard Non. While the Generic Car Dash Sticky serves a specific niche for suction cup mounts, the JIMISHA pad offers far greater utility for the average driver. Its ability to withstand temperatures as low as -20°C makes it the superior choice for winter driving, ensuring your dashboard accessories stay put even when the mercury drops. The flexibility to cut the pad to any size and the option to wash and reuse it make it a smarter long-term investment than a fixed, single-use base. In my opinion, having a versatile tool that can hold everything from keys to a phone without needing complex hardware is simply more practical for daily life.
According to the product features, the double-sided tape used on the Generic pad is designed to peel off effortlessly without leaving a trace or damaging the dashboard surface.
Yes, the JIMISHA pad measures 6.3 x 5.1 inches and is designed to be cut down to smaller pieces, allowing you to customize the size for specific items like remotes or coins.
The JIMISHA pad uses a soft, malleable PU gel that grips items through friction and tackiness, while the Generic pad uses a hard PC bracket and double-sided tape primarily to support suction cup mounts.
