I have been an active volunteer both for district educational activities as well as district extracurricular activities. These experiences have been exceptionally rewarding, and have provided me with the opportunity to get to know and understand the important perspectives of so many different SWR community members.

District Volunteerism
District Volunteerism
I worked with our superintendent, Mr. Poole, to facilitate focus groups and consolidate themes to refine the major objectives of our 2019 - 2024 Strategic Plan. This work included planning a community meeting, identifying focus group facilitators, facilitating a focus group, collecting notes, and consolidating notes into themes.
I spearheaded the process by which we updated our district's Vision, Mission, and Values statements. This work included holding workshops with many stakeholders (i.e., The district's administration, teacher's union cabinet, support staff union cabinet, each of the school buildings' faculty, community members, and the district's curriculum development committee), consolidating notes from each of those workshops, identifying themes that emerged from those conversations, and crafting what became the final version of our renewed, district-wide Vision, Mission, and Values statements. Being able to talk with so many stakeholders about their hopes and dreams for the district was incredibly rewarding, and provided me with a sense of what is most important to get right for our community.
I designed and adminstered a district-wide survey about the state of communication practices that occur throughout the district. This focus area was one of the major objectives of the 2019 - 2024 Strategic Plan that we wanted to learn more deeply about. After the survey, I facilitated a workshop with community members about ways to improve our communication practices. What emerged from these activities led to a successful consolidation of district-wide communication that benefited parents, students, teachers, and the school district.
I am a member of the district's space and facilities committee, audit committee, and strategic planning committee. As part of these respective committees, I help to prioritize space and facility projects, am kept aware and provide feedback about our district's audit processes, and contribute to the development of our next 5-year strategic plan.
Extracurricular Volunteerism

I have been the youth girls lacrosse program director for the past three years. I am responsible for program registration, the kick-off event, scheduling games, ordering uniforms, responding to team needs throughout the season, hosting tournaments for our teams, celebrating the end of the season, and supporting our varsity players.
I have been a youth boys lacrosse coach for the past 6 years, and a youth girls lacrosse coach for the past 4 years. I currently coach the youth boys 6th grade team, the youth girls 4th grade team, and the youth boys Kindergarten/1st grade teams. I have truly loved watching these young athletes develop their skills and also as evolve as individuals over the years. It is an honor to get to be a part of their growth.
I am an active member of the Lax Out Cancer committee, where we work to raise funds and hold events that bring our community together in order to support local individuals and their families battling cancer.
