Getting Help at the IWK
When a child or teen has a mental health or addictions problem, the IWK can help. As a member of your health care team, they can work with you, your family and other health care providers to provide the best health care.
Here is how it works:
Step 1 - The patient/family calls the IWK Central Referral 902 464-4110 and press 1 to book an appointment.
Step 2- Staff will collect information and give you a CHOICE(first) appointment.
Step 3- You attend your CHOICE appointment with an IWK clinician and get to:
Talk about your child or family's mental health or addictions problem.
Learn about available services and treatments
Work out together what options best fit your family's needs.
Make a plan about what to do after the Choice appointment
