I'm always doing something creative, even if I'm not getting paid for it. Here you can take a look at some of the art I make just for me.
I used a combination of wood and insulation foam to create a scale replica of the Goddess Longsword from Legend of Zelda.
Even though I was working with end-of-year scrap, I had an incredible amount of fun.
Maybe fourty eight hours after I purchased my first digital drawing pad, I made my first rough digital costume rendering. Based on the fantastic designs of Tom Blake, this chest peice and wrist brace set were incredibly fun to dream up.
At the end of the film, main character Ryland Grace assimilates into the culture of Erid, a planet whose inhabitants rely on advanced echolocation sense to interpret the world around them. I waned to imagine a situation where Grace would need Eridian clothes. The xenonite structure of the garments would sound best to Eridian senses, with the jutting spikes adding a decorative element. I used Blake's design of Rocky's family crest to imagine a world where Grace identifies himself as a part of Rocky's family unit. The left wrist brace details Grace's petrova line mission, while the right brace, when scratched, mimics Eridian language.
This logo appears exactly once in the film, but I was insistent on recreating it as a fun graphic design challenge.
One of the most whimsical crafts I've ever had the pleasure of making. I went a tiny bit insane hand making jimmy sprinkles for this ice cream sundae. There are many easier ways to do this, but for me this project was about the details, and this sprinkles looked most realistic when cut out of dyed air dry clay.
The rest of the sundae is made out of a combination of expanding foam, piped spackle, air dry clay and epoxy glue.
