Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD)

The CSULB BUILD Program offers intensive research training for undergraduate students interested in exploring careers in health-related research from the Colleges of Engineering, Health and Human Services, Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences, and Mathematics.

Training Activities: Faculty-Mentored Research (~15 research hours per week during the semester), Professional Conference Travel, GRE Preparation, Colloquium, Seminar, Summer Research Internship, etc.

Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)

The UROP is a one-year program that offers first- and second-year students the chance to participate in the research and creative process with faculty. First-year transfer students may apply and are considered on a case-by-case basis. - Click here for more information

Fall Semester: 1-unit research seminar (UNIV 296) to learn about research methods, research ethics, research-focused field trips and tours, cutting-edge research, skill-building topics, etc.

Spring Semester: student conduct research or creative work with a faculty member and present their research at the CSULB Undergraduate Research Symposium. Advanced research seminar (UNIV 297) that focuses on supporting successful research placement, career exploration, and major preparation and success.

Funding for students who participate in UROP consists of $16.50 per hour for 8-12 hours/week during Fall 2022 & Spring 2023.

LAEP

Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP)

The LAEP provides funds to participating public colleges and universities to offer eligible students oppornities to earn money while gaining career-related experience in their fields of study. To see your eligibility for the LAEP and more details, please visit the link.
