Dolly Baby is an incredible post-capitalism dystopian universe created by Bouchera Tahraoui where body parts are treated like Mr. Potato Head extensions and where people can be brought back from the dead. This new technology however further exposes a problem we're all very acquainted with: the loss of authenticity.
In this second short, we explore the story of Adisa, a singer struggling with his agency's pressure of giving up his real voice for what is believed to be a new, more talented one. Mayur, an old friend of his, and Dolly, his... reluctant acquaintance, are his surgeons for the day, yet both of them have very different opinions on what his next move should be. What will Adisa do?
Dolly Baby : Rhythm and Flesh is a 5 minutes short on which I have had the chance to work alongside Bouchera as her co-writer, editor, and producer. This bilingual script has over ten versions of the story, fine-tuned with the help of the development team and our beta-watchers' feedback.
