BIOGRAPHY
Dr Jie Yuan currently is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southampton. His research interests are mainly in the design and optimisation of complex nonlinear aerospace systems. He graduated as an aerospace engineer from the University of Bristol in 2012 and obtained a PhD degree in aerospace dynamics from the Rolls Royce Composite UTC within Bristol Composite Institute in 2016, followed by a postdoc in Rolls Royce Vibration Technology Centre at Imperial College London until 2021. Before joining Southampton in 2023, he was a Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde. In addition, he worked at Airbus UK between 2015 and 2017. He holds an honorary/Visiting research fellow position from the University of Bristol in 2016, Cranfield University in 2017, Imperial College London in 2020 and the University of Strathclyde in 2023.
