Personal
My hometown is Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. It is 90 miles from Shanghai, 70 miles from Suzhou, and 55 miles from Hangzhou. I can speak a Chinese dialect, called 'Wu' language, which is popular nearby.
I have a son, for whom my husband and I decided to move from the then air-polluted Beijing city to Texas, U.S., in 2014 when he was two years old.
I have played a Chinese instrument called erhu (or "erheen") since childhood, but I listen mostly to classical music and rock music. I once spent 1 hour every day helping my son with his flute practicing for about 1.5 years before he could practice alone.
In my spare time, I love to watch the eclipses, planets, stars, and nebulas with my family through our telescope or in observatories. I also love having road trips with my family. Until 2023, we have visited nine national parks: White Sand, Carlsbad Cavern, Saguaro, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Zion, Yosemite, Olympic, and Great Smoky Mountain. My family had traveled together to California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Tennessee, Utah, Colorado, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and New York City.
