Hi, my name is Jian Zhang. I am currently a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at Fox School of Business, Temple University. My concentration is Risk Management and Insurance. My advisors are Dr. Martin Grace and Dr. Benjamin Collier.
My research interests include textual analysis and flood insurance. Specifically, I am working on topic modeling on insurance companies' disclosures and households’ insurance decisions in the U.S. National Flood Insurance Program. I am enthusiastic about using cutting-edge techniques to explore corporate disclosures and study how insurance can help households recover from natural disasters.
I taught Risk Financing at Fox School of Business and was an adjunct lecturer for Credit Risk at Baruch College in fall 2020.
I received my Master of Philosophy from Lingnan University, Master of Science from Jilin University, and Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE).
I like to play soccer. I play a soccer match with my teammates every Saturday morning.
