As a researcher at Microsoft Azure AI, I develop, improve, and deploy state-of-the-art artificial intelligence products leveraging Azure infrastructure and OpenAI's powerful models. It is both an honor and a privilege to contribute to a variety of highly impactful projects, including OpenAI model continual pretraining, supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and privacy-preserving learning paradigms via differential privacy, federated learning. Collaborating with GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure Cognative Search, my work plays an important part in enhancing these innovative products.

Previously, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia, where my work mainly revolved around engineering statistics, including uncertainty quantification, computer experiments, and data fusion.

Before that, I spent five enriching years at Georgia Tech's School of Industrial and Systems Engineering pursuing my Ph.D. My thesis research explored the intersection of machine learning, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare, and I relished the opportunity to work hands-on with 3D printing machines, robotics, and cell culture. Along the way, I also earned a master's degree in Statistics.

I completed my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering as part of the Special Class for Gifted Young at the University of Science and Technology of China. Among my talented classmates, I met and fell in love with my wife, Yujia, who truly embodies the term gifted.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, crafting, and engaging in various sports. However, I must admit that the rainy weather in Seattle isn't my favorite aspect of living here.
