About me & this website:
During my M.S. degree in Textiles & Clothing at UC Davis in 2016, I took the Chemistry 118 series and realized it was not an easy course. Before I continued my Ph.D. in the Chemistry Department, there were a few months when I did not have a TA position and relied on tutoring to get by. The notes on this website were developed from those tutoring experiences and later became the handouts for my discussion sections when I finally became a TA for the 118 series.

Of course, to my general chemistry students, I must offer my sincere apologies. I was born in a place where between the ages of 13 and 18, we studied the content of general chemistry that you aren’t expected to learn until after turning 18—and we did so in a rather high-pressure and intense way (with weekly exams). As a result, I may sometimes instinctively overlook the fact that some of these concepts are still new to you. But this does not mean I will pass on that same pressure. On the contrary, since becoming a lecturer at UC Davis, I have devoted myself to researching how to make these subjects engaging and accessible.
