Parallel Hypersonic Aerothermodynamics and Radiation Optimized Solver (PHAROS) is an in-house multi-block parallel finite volume CFD solver, which was developed by the principal investigator during his PhD study. It was initially intended for hypersonic nonequilibrium simulations. After years of development, it is now applicable to various compressible flow problems, such as hypersonic boundary-layer transition, shock-wave/boundary-layer interactions, supersonic turbulent boundary layers, shock/bubble interactions, detonation, etc. Based on a linear decomposition, PHAROS has been extended to global stability analysis (GSA) and global resolvent analysis.Â
