Infinite-Dimensional Dynamical Systems (2020)

Course Description

Dynamical systems are concerned with anything that changes. They originated from celestial mechanics and serve as the basis for the deterministic description of the universe.

In this course, we will study partial differential equations from the perspective of infinite-dimensional dynamical systems. We mainly introduce the semigroup theory to examine the existence, uniqueness, and smoothness of solutions. Then we analyze Lyapunov's global stability of equilibria.

The recommended prerequisites for studying infinite-dimensional dynamical systems include a basic understanding of partial differential equations and an open-mind to learning.
